You know how sometimes you hear something and it just sticks? I recently heard an interview with a young woman who fled Ukraine after her home was hit by an airstrike. At the end, when asked if she had anything else to share, she said this:

“Please do—please do cherish clear skies, every time you see skies, cherish every moment of your life.“

It’s this intimacy of the poetic mundaneness of everyday life that too often gets lost in the daily hustle. This painting was inspired by this profound reminder to cherish what seems mundane, to focus less on the hustle and appreciate life and peace.
